water  Baptism

By one Spirit are we all baptized into one body
Just as a wedding ring symbolizes a marital commitment, water baptism represents your new relationship with Jesus. While baptism itself doesn't make you a member of God's family, it publicly declares that you already belong to it. It is the first step on your spiritual journey after deciding to follow Jesus, marking the beginning of your public witness of faith. Jesus described it as our first act of obedience—a visible sign of your inner commitment to God. If you haven't been baptized as an adult in accordance with Biblical teachings, this is an important next step for you! Here’s a summary of what you need to know before being baptized.
  1. The Standard of Water Baptism: In the Bible, people got baptized soon after deciding to follow Jesus (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Acts 10:47-48, Romans 6:4). Most New Testament believers were baptized right away. For you to be baptized in our church, you need to have started a relationship with Jesus and be growing in your faith within our church community.
  2. The Source of Water Baptism: The Bible tells us to baptize people by fully immersing them in water. Anyone who repents and believes in Jesus as their Savior and Lord should be baptized. Baptism shows the world that you have died to your old life and are now living a new life with Jesus.
  3. The Symbolism of Water Baptism: Baptism is an outward action that represents an inner change. It shows that your old life has been buried with Christ and that you have risen as a new person in Him.
  4. The Significance of Water Baptism: Baptism signifies that we are no longer controlled by sin. We now have the strength to follow God and resist sin. Through baptism, we declare that we are new creations in Christ.
