Our History

First Assembly of God, New Rochelle, NY is an affiliate of the General Council of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, MO. Prior to our affiliation, we were known as the Apostolic Faith Church. In 1918, the leaders of the Apostolic Church requested church affiliation with the Assemblies of God and was officially recognized as one of their local assemblies of God church, Pastored by Rev. John W. Tucker.

First Assembly of God has a rich and longstanding history of service in the city of New Rochelle and in particular the west end community. Rev. Barnaby is the 16th pastor to serve this fellowship, He and his wife, Enid, began ministry here on Dec 29, 1983. His vision for this local church continues to be that of reaching people of every race with the life-transforming message of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.

How to become a Christian

A. Admit you are a sinner. “There is no one righteous, not even one … for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:10,23. (See Romans 5:8; 6:23.)

Ask God’s forgiveness. “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:13

B. Believe in Jesus (put your trust in Him) as your only hope of salvation. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (See John 14:6.)

Become a child of God by receiving Christ. “To all who receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” John 1:12 (See Revelation 3:20.)

C. Confess that Jesus is your Lord. “If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9 (See verse 10.)

Karar Ministries

Karar Ministries was birth from the Women’s Ministry, in 2008. We are a called out group of committed and dedicated women who like David, dance before the Lord in II SAMUEL 6:14 ― “David danced before the Lord …”

Karar means to dance or to whirl. We use our bodies in movement of worship with a message that brings hope, salvation and conviction to the heart.
